Through its enriching history, Carl F Bucherer watch began to be synonymous with marvelous mechanisms, advanced ornament and unmatched constructive passion, expressed in various timepieces defined by extraordinary sensitivity and eminence.
The Carl F Bucherer brand was set up in the Swiss city of Lucerne in 1888 as a creator of luxury watches and jewellery by Carl F Bucherer and his wife Luise. In turn their sons Carl-Edward and Ernst went forward to extend the luxury brand, both having been educated in the watchmaking and goldsmith professions.
In 1919 after the war, a collection of beautiful ladies wristwatches was uncovered. The smooth launching of these elegant watch accessories into the market has witnessed the brand’s remarkable success, bringing to its fame in the region of luxury watch industry. A range of men’s watches followed and these chronograph and big date watches were practical and highly sought after.
After the Second World War, the Bucherer brand, as it was now well-known grew more modern in the United States when returning U.S. servicemen passed through Switzerland, many appreciative of the uncompromising quality of the Bucherer men’s wristwatch.
In 1964, the U.S. President Richard Nixon was sported visiting the Bucherer shop with a splashing Bucherer chronograph on his wrist proudly, and numerous inflated connoissurs are grapping insanely for a timepiece.
In 1976 a third generation of family participation continued under Jorg Bucherer. After the Renaissance of the popularity of the mechanical wristwatch in the 1990′s, Bucherer luxury wristwatches once once more brought out fresh timepieces such as the Archimedes Perpetual Calendar.
Today Jorg Bucherer is still the proprietor of the brand. Following a company rebrand these elegant Swiss watches once again stand the name of the father Carl F Bucherer.
