It is strongly believed that flowers, chocolates and sweet words are the most things favored by a vast majority of females. Much of the like, every female friend also has been dreaming to own an unique brand jewelry as their favorite since childhood, though, mostly the prices of various kinds of brand jewelries are too high to afford. For example, the price of a Tiffany diamond ring may cost about five-month earnings of a white collar.

I have worked as an office lady for only one year; I have no large sum of savings or that sort of things. During the year I have been buried myself in my work and seldom go shopping as before. One reason of my diligence is because of the piled workloads, and the other reason is that I really have not had enough money to afford such an expensive jewelry. Most of the time, I will comfort myself with the excuse that jewelry is just an item which can not fill my empty stomach and supply any practical ends for me.

I still remember that it was a sunny holiday; I exceptionally set a leisure time for myself on the weekend, I was very exciting and happy as a bird relieved from a cage. To tell the truth, before that time, I just wanted to feast our eyes on these rare and beautiful luxury goods, after all, I was one of most females who have been dreamed of a precious jewel such as the Tiffany jewel. I roved around various special counters for Tiffany-branded jewelries in the jeweler’s shop, all of a sudden; I was deeply fascinated by a featured Tiffany ring named as Jean. Jean Schlumberger’s rendition of an “X,” is the popular symbol of love. The Ring was with sapphires and round brilliant sea-blue diamonds in platinum. It is really quite beautiful and fascinating.

At that moment, I was intrigued with a desire for love and beauty by appreciating the beautiful jewel and was nearly be driven by impulse to buy it for my own. But, the Sapphires ring with round brilliant diamonds and whose carat total weight is 59 was priced at $6,500 which was equal to my half-year salary or savings.

Hesitating for a quite long time, I finally hardened my heart and bought the desired ring. Many people may disagree on my impulsive behavior. But at that moment, I thought that finding a satisfactory and loved item as the Sapphires ring for ourselves was not a soft nut, and money is just something we can earn at anytime while the Tiffany diamond ring may never appear in the displaying counter after the whole series were sold out. Every woman should be kind to ourselves, and appropriately satisfy our desires!

Zenith Under Slow Economy

If you are a Zenith fan or a watch industy observer, you must know that Zenith, a well-known watch maker from Swiss, was considerably hit by the world economic crisis and had a very hard time.

In the first half of 2008, a gold time for luxury watches before the crisis, Zenith highest-end luxury watches that at least asked $500,000 each still sold pretty well. Shortly after, the whole industry faced a huge nightmare. Data told everything. In 2009, the sales amount of LVMH’s watches and jewelry shrinked by  19 percent. And that of Zenith plummeted by 25 percent. It topped the list when it came to sales decline.

At that time, Zenith owned 16 leading lines with about 800 models. Totally 250 employees, among which there were  25 métiers, 15 engineers, and 12 watchmakers,worked from this Swiss watch company. In good old days when their products were well-received, to feed these employees was not a big issue. But when the crisis came, things became very different. LVMH had to do something for the brand’s survive. Right in the mid of 2009, LVMH fired Thierry Nataf, the president of Zenith, and appointed Jean-Frederic Dufour who was the head production head of Chopard watches as the new CEO.

To bring life to Zenith, Jean-Frederic Dufour decidedly took layoffs- about 70 employees lost job ,and cut 12 leading products lines immediatley –just 4 main collections contained 150 models were remained, including high end watch line Academy, which contains highly complex complications; Chronomaster and Class line that are driven by the brand’s El Primero movement; Defy and the entry-level Elite series. Meanwhile, he took the practice that not a few watch brands adopted – to launch watches that are of less expensive prices. The new Elite Captain watch that sells at $4000 is a fine example of this practice.
